I am a registered clinical psychologist who provides child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts and Honours degrees in Psychology, as well as my Masters in Psychology (100% thesis), at the University of Stellenbosch. I then completed my Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Johannesburg, from which I graduated Cum Laude. I have also gained invaluable experience working with a diverse range of clients during my internship year and community service year at Tara – The H. Moross Centre and Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Johannesburg.
I am trained in several approaches, including: Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My approach is largely informed by a psychodynamic perspective, though I believe that for therapy to be successful, it must be tailored for the specific needs of the individual, couple or family. In addition to individual therapy, I also offer play therapy for children, couples therapy, family therapy, and parent-infant psychotherapy (under 5s). I am fluent in English and Afrikaans.
I have a special interest in attachment difficulties, trauma and loss, mood and anxiety disorders, difficulty managing overwhelming emotions, and psychosis.
